The United States Department of Transportation has strict rules when it comes to displaying your commercial carrier's name and DOT number on vehicles. You must have markings that are both bold, as well as contrasting from what they're applied next so people can see them easily in case there is any confusion about who you work for or where these trucks go during transport! They also need to be displayed on both sides of the truck (the door or cab itself). The letter height has to be at least 2 inches tall but this is America, the bigger the better!
We're here to make it simple for your. Here's the breakdown:
- 2" minimum height
- Must be displayed on both sides of the power unit. This can be on the door or the cab, whichever you prefer.
- Font must be easily legible, bold and contrasting from the color of the surface it's on. Can't have dark grey on a black truck.
It can be daunting to consider all the requirements but here's a few products so take the stress away.
But don't just take our word for it, look it up yourself! https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/newsroom/new-rule-marking-large-trucks-ease-identification-improve-safety
